In the scientific library, the Geography (IP) and Geography-History Departments jointly held an event entitled “The Heritage of Alkey Margulan – the Spiritual Wealth of the Nation” dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Kazakh school of archaeology, an outstanding figure in many fields of science: ethnography, history, oriental studies, literary studies, art history, academician Alkey Khakanuly Margulan.

Senior lecturer, member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan Otarov Mels Taskaliyevich spoke, painted a portrait of academician Alkey Margulan during the event, and at the end of the evening presented the work of art to the readers. Students expressed interest and shared their impressions.

Poems dedicated to the great scientist Alkey Margulan were read by Kaisar Nursaya, a student of the Geography IP Department, and Oryngali Bekarys, a student of the Geography and History Department. Muratov Eraly, a student of the Geography and History Department of the State University of Arts, rocked the audience with the song "Zhekpe-zhek", while Orazbay Zhadyra, a student of the Geography IP Department of the State University of Arts, entertained the audience with the song "Atameken".

At the end of the evening, Master of Pedagogical Sciences, teacher Ainur Kenzhalievna Khairullina and Head of the Department of Readers' Demand Management of the Scientific Library Sadap Suyesinovna summed up the evening and expressed gratitude to the guests. A book exhibition entitled "Academician Alkey Margulan" was organized for the event. The event ended with the song "Erke-sylkym".

Continuing the path of loyalty to our grandfather Alkey to his homeland and cultural heritage is the duty of every Kazakh. Even after 120 years, the works of Alkey Margulan will remain in our minds and hearts forever.
