In order to contribute to the personal development of students, broaden their horizons by attracting young people to reading, and to identify and encourage active readers, the Scientific Library has made it a tradition to hold the "Reader of the Year" competition annually.

Purpose: to promote the importance of reading, attract young students to reading, and identify the best readers among students. To form a category of readers with a rich aesthetic taste, a sharp mind, a quick imagination, and a comprehensive knowledge. On this occasion, the award ceremony of the "Reader of the Year - 2025" competition was held.

Students and professors of each faculty attended the solemn event. The guests of the evening were university graduate Sanat Amanbek, who won the "Reader of the Year - 2024" nomination, and university students Talgatov Mintemir and Khalimatova Albina, who won the "Active Reader - 2024" and "Discovering Reader - 2024" nominations. Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Social Issues Suleimenov Mergen Kuanyshovich urged students to read books, stay in close contact with the library and become friends with books. 

The winner of the "Active Reader - 2025" nomination of the "Reader of the Year - 2025" competition was Gulzhibek Iliyasova, The "Distinguished Reader - 2025" nomination was won by Saltanat Zulkarnaeva, a student of the Faculty of Philology, and Zharkyn Zhumageldiev, a 4th-year student of the Preschool Art and Design Department of the Faculty of Culture and Arts.

Each reader expressed his best wishes and impressively expressed his interest in reading books. During the evening, students' interest in reading books was active. During the event, the director of the scientific library, Toty Erkinovna, expressed her warm greetings to the readers and congratulated the award winners.  The most important nomination of our evening, "Reader of the Year - 2025", will be determined at the Makhambet Best Awards ceremony, and we will eagerly find out together.
